Don’t prick my joy bubble…

I dream. I dream big.
I smile. My smile reaches my eyes.
I cry. I cry to my heart’s content.
I dance. I dance conspicuously.
I shiver. The shiver runs down my spine unobtrusively.
It’s not about getting noticed, it’s about the little joys, the drill that completes life, the things that sculpt our lives and make it worth living.
What exactly is happiness?
Happiness is loving someone without inhibitions.
Happiness is having a friend you can confide in.
Happiness is your mom cooking your favourite food.
Happiness is having an uncanny knack of inviting trouble.
Happiness is having a sane moment in our own madness.
Happiness is a seeing your father smiling placidly after your small victories.
Happiness lies in the beauty of the unknown, the everyday protocols. We only realize how integral a part of our lives they are when they go amiss. These are the elements of life we wake up to. These are the basic tenets of living life.
There is nothing  that can compare to the bliss of having someone who loves you, someone you can hold on to and bask in their glory, stand still just for a while, ensconced in their embrace, indifferent to the rest.
We crib about not having all the perks of life, not having the perfect partner, not having just enough.
Then what about a slum dweller who is content in having one meal a day. A vendor who feels blessed to have his own little corner. A rag-picker who rejoices finding a shredded doll.
You can never tell how bright a diamond is till you hold it under the sun.  You will never know how beautiful a rainbow is till a raindrop sees the sun.  Little did we know as children that a small droplet can give out such beautiful colours.
I don’t claim to be the happiest person, no, I’m not. But I sure have a hang of it. I know what it feels to be happy after a long drawn phase of downs and lows.
It also does in no way imply that we start getting judgmental  about people who are unhappy. We don’t know what they've been through, what’s weighing down on their happiness. For all we know, they must have incurred an irreparable loss. We should never judge the other side of the fence until you have crossed it.
Time will not wait for you, you need to go out there and find your own bundle of joy. It’s all about the outlook towards life. We need to learn to forgive, to stand up and collect our shattered remains after breaking down. We need to learn to say sorry and I love you without worrying about the reciprocal.
Just walk like you’re the king or walk like you don’t care who the king is. If you care about what other people think or what they have to say, you’ll forever be their prisoner.
Never expect beyond a point, because it’ll only give you disappointment and being disappointed is disappointing. Don’t have issues, have the whole damn subscription.
Fight for what makes you happy, fight strong, fight dirty. Anything worth fighting for is worth fighting dirty for. Surround yourself with people who make you a better person.
Don’t waste time nagging and sulking, tomorrow could be too late!!

Too many people have addiction to superficial things and not enough conviction for substantial things like truth and love.
-Cornell West.

There’s only enough in this world to make everyone dream a little dream, a lucid dream.
A dream that makes you want to wake up and make it come true J
